January

After the warm reds, golds and glitter of Christmas. After the decorations have been taken down and the last of the chocolates in their jewel coloured wrappers have been eaten, everything feels a bit dull and a bit grey. January can sometimes feel like you are living life with the volume turned down. At least, that's how it feels to me.

Well, here are a few things I've stumbled upon lately to add an affordable touch of glitz to those cold, grey January days.  I hope you like my selection this week. Have a fabulous New Year!

George at Asda

A selection of lovely things from George at Asda.........

1.  I spotted this lovely owl sweatshirt while shopping in Asda today. A bargain at £10 and available in sizes 8-24. Unfortunately, it wouldn't suit my body shape (sob) but I had to feature it.

After arriving home, I decided to look on their website and found some other delights to share....

Blogged

2.  Bunny sweater top - who doesn't want a bunny wearing dorky glasses and a fedora on their chest? £12 and once again available in sizes 8-24.
3. Strappy bird print shoes - currently just £5. I may have to buy a pair of these.
4.  Bunny print weekender bag (£9) - I LOVE this! I need another weekend bag like a hole in the head but I may have to have it.

All of these items are available to buy here or may be available in your local Asda store.

The small print - Asda have not endorsed this blog post in any way. I have not received any money or free stuff to feature their products. They are on here because I like them. Simple as that.

Scottish Deer Centre

My man and I had a rare weekday off together yesterday.  We decided to head to the Scottish Deer Centre near Cupar in Fife. I've been desperate to go there ever since I found out they have a wolf pack and a red fox.

It was a dull day but fortunately it stayed dry. I was delighted to discover that you can purchase a bag of deer food along with your ticket and actually hand feed some of the deer. I got to feed some beautiful and very friendly Sika & Fallow deer and watch the birds of prey demonstration where we joined at our table by a lovely Eagle Owl. The highlight of the day was the carnivore walk and talk where we got to see wolves, wildcats and foxes being fed. I found this all very exciting but unfortunately, no great pictures of the wolves to be had because they were behind two fences. I did manage to get some lovely pictures of the other animals and birds though.  There's a couple more on my Flickr page too.  Hope you like them!
